Preheat the oven to 150 degrees.
Place all ingredients (except the egg you use to cover the dough) in a large bowl and mix with a wooden spoon to a fairly moist dough.
Cover a baking sheet with baking paper. Divide the dough over the baking sheet into two long strips about 5 centimeters wide. Brush the dough with some beaten egg.
Place in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
Remove the cake from the oven and cut into 1.5 centimeter strips. Then place it on their side on a rack and put it in the oven again. Only 5 minutes this time. Allow the cookies to cool completely and serve as dessert with a glass of Vino Santo (to dip the cookies in)
